Eleven plus exam Yorkshire

11+ Yorkshire

There are three Local Autorities that have an academic selection process for children moving up to senior school that may be referred to as the 11 plus. Click on the Local Authority name for more information.

Calderdale

There are two selective state schools in Calderdale.

  • Crossley Heath School
  • North Halifax Grammar School

Kirklees

There is only one selective state school in Kirklees that requires children to sit an 11+ exam, Heckmondwike Grammar School.

North Yorkshire

There are three selective grammar schools in North Yorks., two in Skipton and one in Ripon. North Yorkshire Council organises the entrance tests for Ripon Grammar, the two Skipton schools arrange and run their own selection tests
