11+ Lincolnshire - LCGS
The Lincolnshire Consortium of Grammar Schools is a consortium of 14 schools that use one common entrance exam at 11 plus. The exam is written by GL Assessment and administered by the Lincolnshire Consortium of Grammar Schools.
Caistor Grammar School is not part of the Consortium, it administers its own 11+ test.
The Lincolnshire Consortium 11+ examination comprises two tests. A Verbal Reasoning Test and a Non-verbal Reasoning Test. Questions are multiple choice format and answers are recorded on an Optical Mark Reading (OMR) sheet.
The Verbal Reasoning test is 50 minutes and contains 85 questions.
The Non-verbal Reasoning test is usually shorter, around 35 minutes. There will be a number of distinct sections each with its own time allowance. Children will not be able to use any remaining time in one section to go back to review a previous section.
The qualification is a total standardised score of at least 220 on the two tests. This represents the most able 25% of children in the age range in the selective areas of Lincolnshire. Places are allocated at the schools according to their own criteria so please note that achieving the qualification standard does not itself guarantee admission to any individual school.
